C1845 Antique Samuel Alcock Tea Set Teapot Cup Saucer Milk Jug Sugar Bowl 7327. Relisted to correct an error in the original listing. This Is a beautiful and rare tea set by Samual Alcock, Hill Pottery, Burslem, c1845, bone china, marked with pattern number 7327. The whole set appears unused. The set consists of - X1 Teapot X1 Sugar Bowl and lid X1 Milk jug X4 Cup and saucers.

The teapot in this set features on page 323 of Berthoud's Directory of British Teapots, plate 1953:'Samuel Alcock, Hill Pottery, Burslem, c1845, bone china, marked with pattern number 7327, with moulded spout, rustic loop finial and complex handle, raised on four feet with an apron, 14 hole strainer. I'm now going to go through the set piece by piece and give a quick run through of their condition but please examine the photos carefully to as these also form a part of the description. No cracks or chips or restoration.

There's some mild areas of crazing in areas visible under bright light. Some mild wear In areas to the pattern.

Milk Jug 16cm tall - Good Condition, no cracks, chips or obvious crazing that I could find. There spears to be restoration the the handle on the lower half. This is visible in photos. Sugar Bowl (17cm tall) - Good condition, the handle on the lid appears to have some restoration which is visible in the photos.

Also has two deep cracks starting from the rim that are visible in the photos. You would want to reinforce this with some glue or get it professionally repaired if you were planning on using thus item.

Cups and saucers - ok/good condition. Of the 4, Two of the cups have a vertical hairliine crack down one side and one has broken and been reglued in an amateur fashion (visible in photos) the 4th cup is in good condition and has a nice ring to it when tapped.

Of the 4 saucers 3 appear crack and crazing free and one has a chip. However of the three that look crack and crazing free one if them sounds flat when tapped.
